*The time needed to complete an assessment varies depending on the client and the services being provided. More than 1 hour may be required in order to complete an assessment and determine treatment goals.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Package
$1200*
*Payment may be made in advance or in installments as services are provided
AAC refers to communication methods, systems and/or tools that are used to support or replace spoken communication.

The ExpressAbility AAC service package includes:

2 assessment sessions to gather information, identify communication needs and explore different AAC options
-
1 caregiver consultation to review AAC recommendations and discuss individualized vocabulary needs

Individualized initial set-up, programming and customization of a chosen AAC system**

1 caregiver training session to learn how to use the chosen AAC system

2 therapy sessions/communication partner training sessions to support AAC implementation
Please Note:

**The AAC service package is for professional services only and does not include an AAC device and program. The client is responsible for purchasing the recommended AAC technology (usually an iPad and communication app). Low-tech/paper-based AAC systems are also available, however, an additional fee will be charged to cover the cost of materials and printing.

Families who are enrolled with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) may be able to use their funding allocations to purchase technology, program materials and/or therapy equipment with a letter of recommendation from a Speech-Language Pathologist or other regulated professional. The Speech-Language Pathologist can provide this letter for an additional fee of $140.

Ongoing follow-up support is available at the therapy rates outlined above.
Payment:
Payment is due at the time of session.
We accept cash, e-transfer or credit card.

Insurance: Speech-Language Pathology services are covered under many extended health benefits insurance plans. Receipts will be provided that can be submitted to insurance providers for reimbursement, if applicable. Direct billing to insurance companies is not provided.

Ontario Autism Program: Speech-Language Pathology services are considered a "core clinical service" and eligible for coverage through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP).

Medical Expenses: You may be able to claim Speech-Language Pathology services as medical expenses when you file your tax return. Talk to your accountant/financial advisor and/or visit the CRA website for more information and to determine your eligibility.
Cancellation Policy:
Clients will be charged 50% of their scheduled session fee for no shows and non-emergency cancellations when less than 24 hours notice has been provided.
Repeated cancellations or "no shows" may result in the termination of services.
